This series of prompts is designed for readers and writers to get to know each other. Share your ideas, your favorites or your work in progress. But this challenge isn’t only for readers and writers. Any creative or fan of the spooky season can join in!

It was hard to come up with a name for this challenge. Nothing seemed to include all the different elements I love in October and for Halloween. I chose speculative fiction because it encompassed most of the Halloween themes I like. It includes magical realism, horror, science fiction, fantasy. I love black cats, witches, werewolves and elves, but I need my aliens, too! I couldn’t find a nice alien image I liked to put in the graphic and didn’t have time to draw one.

I used the term MC a book’s main character of any type to save space, so using MC doesn’t mean that the prompt for writers only.
